SkyDATA - NOC Technician Overnight Shift
Job Summary:
Maintain the integrity of the network system by troubleshooting network errors, performing system analysis techniques and ensuring operation of the 24 x 7 via 365 day technical support call centre.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for opening, resolving and closing trouble tickets via the toll-free technical support number.
- Ensuring the on-going functionality of network components using network tools, alerts and thresholds.
- Quickly identifying and assessing the severity of a trouble ticket and following appropriate procedures to see it rectified.
- Participate in the deployment and integration of new equipment and applications.
- Researches new features and functionality to improve product offerings.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, principles and rules of networking
- Throughout knowledge of common computer applications: Email, VoIP, RoIP, Subnetting etc.
- Ability to follow procedures and working within the pre-set established policies and departments
- Must be flexible and willing to be part of a larger team.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field, or equivalent experience
- Cisco CCENT Certification strongly encouraged
- Bilingualism would be considered an asset
Related Work Experience:
- Network management experience
- Call Centre experience
- I.T. Troubleshooting experience
- Previous experience with VSAT is an asset.

Office / Call centre environment
